The Top Notch was purchased in 2022 by a couple of long-time family friends. The boat then underwent some changes. She was updated so she’d be ready to go in the open ocean on the Pacific Coast of beautiful Costa Rica in comfort, with style, and speed. The dream of year round fishing came true for these two families! The Top Notch is here to make that year round fishing dream a reality for you, too.
The experienced crew of the fully-equipped Top Notch have been fishing the waters in and around Quepos for over 25 years. Catching fish is serious business. The captain and crew they take great pride in what they do. Since the updates have been made, the Top Notch has enjoyed many days of incredible fishing, making new friends, and growing the Top Notch family. The Top Notch is always in search of the best bite and the greatest time.

Proven to be one of the most proficient fishing boats with unmatched comfort in Marina Pez Vela, Quepos. Professionally captained by Rolando Gonzales Cruz with 35+ years fishing the calm Pacific waters of Costa Rica. Your world class bilingual crew, native to Quepos, has many years of experience to deliver the best time on the water for your group of friends or family!
Equipped with latest electronics, 2 speed Lp dredge reels, fighting chair, and an air-conditioned salon for comfort, full kitchen galley, 2 staterooms, and 2 full private bathrooms.
The full day charters include all bait, tackle (Penn & Shimano reels, conventional and spinning, custom rods, snacks, hot lunch, and drinks (beer/water/soda).

Don’t forget your hat to shield yourself from the sun, sunglasses to protect your eyes, and a long sleeve shirt for added sun protection. During the rainy season, light rain gear will keep you dry and comfortable.
Please note that a fishing license is required for this thrilling excursion. No need to fret, though, as you can conveniently obtain one at the marina before we set sail. Remember, this is an extraordinary opportunity, so bring a positive and enthusiastic attitude to fully embrace the adventure that awaits.

PRICING
Price is based on 6 people. An additional $50 (net) per person after 6 will be added. If there are any children in attendance, please let us know. We are a family run company, therefore we like to be sure we are prepared accordingly.
Costa Rica has an Impuesto al Valor Agregado or IVA. This is a tax that will be added to your charter booking.
*A customary 20% cash tip is recommended for the hardworking crew*

Fishing licenses are required in Costa Rica. Fishing licenses can be pre-purchased online or at the dock. Cost PER PERSON for 7 days is $17 USD and $50 USD for one (1) month. Prices for fishing licenses are subject to change without notice.
